The Planmeca Onyx™ Lab desktop scanner is a top-class solution for transforming traditional impressions and gypsum models into digital form quickly and with exceptional precision. The model scanner is an outstanding tool for demanding restorative cases, enabling technicians and laboratories to digitally design and manufacture dental prostheses with an optimal passive fit.
The Planmeca Onyx™ Lab desktop scanner converts gypsum models, impressions and articulators into digital form swiftly and accurately. Designed to meet the demanding needs of dental laboratories and technicians, the scanner utilises two high-resolution cameras and LED light source to capture even the most subtle details with exceptional precision, including deep grooves and fissures. This ensures users can achieve the optimal passive fit in every restorative case.
Planmeca Onyx Lab supports various scanning modes, including articulator, single, multi-die, full-jaw, and impression scanning. These modes enable detailed scans for all indications, from single-unit crowns and abutments to full-mouth reconstructions, bridges, implant bars, and orthodontic cases.
Planmeca Onyx Lab easily adapts to even the busiest dental and in-house laboratory environments. The scanner is user-friendly, featuring an intuitive touch screen and a straightforward method for attaching models, impressions and articulators to the scanner. The fully automated system captures scans from different angles, and advanced scanning algorithms ensure that results are immediately available for further use.
Planmeca Onyx Lab seamlessly integrates with the advanced Planmeca PlanCAD® Premium design software. The scanning process can be initiated from the design software with a single click, and once scanned, the digital model is directly available in the software for restoration design. The prosthesis or dental appliance can then be easily manufactured using the Planmeca PlanMill® 60 S laboratory milling unit or the Planmeca Creo® C5 3D printer.
Planmeca Onyx Lab supports open STL and PLY data formats and is also available as a standalone device for easy integration with preferred CAD/CAM systems
